i don't want them unless we run out of food or something.
even then i probably don't want the raccoons.

Do you know the raccoons aren't edible or have you just not tried yet? I'm sure there is nothing my sister couldn't cook into a tasty meal.

But that they are mean is part of what makes them cute! Who would want a boring pet?

what's a spiritual dog?

It's the dog of a cultivator, they are smarter than regular dogs and can help us on night hunts.

A dog trained for battle would be very useful here, especially when you go alone into the forest or the mountains.

Cultivators protect people from supernatural dangers. Very simplified, we cultivate golden cores which permit us to use magic, as well as training in conventional fighting.
