What is a himbo ?
Is it a bad thing? It won't let me change it.

❰ that's actually said aloud as he gets the notification, having the benefit of being able to respond in person as they move towards their gas station destination. ❱
And he knows all kinds of awful slang and technology things...Of course you aren't feral, but I don't even know if I should deny mine!
❰ forest gremlin though? mayhaps... ❱

❰ if lalli wants to believe it, whatever -- the hill he's dying on is that these are not wholly accurate. ❱
Do I look like I'm struggling to you? They're just...half wrong. At least a third wrong.
❰ because he still doesn't know what himbo is at this point, and maybe it turns out to be a good thing. ❱

but of course, solidarity wins out. ) Half wrong, ( he agrees, because even he can be generous sometimes. )

they'd just passed by a dilapidated shed, half collapsed on itself, which is what prompts emil to steer the conversation elsewhere, ❱
How do you feel about looking for a different cabin? ❰ the one they'd woken up in this time around is very small, perhaps more damp than some of the other buildings they'd passed by on their way. it looks like there's more than enough room for real estate browsing, especially with the discovery of other asgard vets in their midst. ❱ I'm sure we can find something better than that hovel we just left. Nothing like back home, but--
❰ that's definitely a sore spot he's feeling, if they aren't going back to asgard (or even their original home) for a while. all that work is wasted, and it's not like there are better or even like options here. ❱

a thoughtful little brow-wrinkle, and - ) Could probably fix whichever we pick. We built a house once before. ( with god assistance, but only up through the skeleton. but he's got the distinct feeling they're not going to find anything up to emil's comfort standards here, and lalli has found himself distinctly invested in meeting those comfort standards. )
no subject
I assume you want Klaus to stay there again. Want to keep harboring the Icelander? ❰ he'll leave that decision up to lalli, who he knows has grown slightly more accepting of that tall, gangly dope. emil's okay with leaving him to fend for himself, maybe giving him a garden shed to roll around in, but lalli might be more generous. ❱
no subject
none of which answers the question, so. ) If there's a room, don't care if he gets it. ( which might as well be a glowing endorsement, from lalli. )

Might as well duplicate our house as much as we can. ❰ which is to say, reynir has a place there if he does indeed show up. ❱ Even though not having Gods here is a pain. At least if we get a house next to this lake, I won't have to ask Honir for a water feature again.
❰ because he already knows that digging his own pond again is a non-starter. ❱
no subject
then, after a few moments' silence, a quiet - ) Do you think that Tuuri will know to find us here? ( if she ever returns. if such a thing is even possible. )
no subject
I think so. ❰ it's softer and reassuring, but said firmly enough to indicate it's a fact he's sure of. ❱ If Reynir can bumble his way here at least once, I'm sure Tuuri can figure it out.
❰ tuuri coming back to life in asgard was so impossible and yet...emil certainly doesn't like to think about it, but in situations like this it feels like death really doesn't have many rules. ❱
no subject
then again, navigation was always her specialty.
he considers asking now about onni, but emil never really got to know him - and also, last lalli heard, he was trying to sacrifice his own life for tuuri's and then he was gone, and he's not positive how he feels about any of that or where it would leave onni's body or soul in the grand scheme of things. and so he doesn't. )
Should get food in cans, or dried. Doesn't expire as fast. ( he's talking about the gas station now, since that's where they're headed, though he doesn't explain as much. )
no subject
or, it would if he was consulted.
the new topic of conversation, though, he does have thoughts about. ❱
Makes sense. I can't remember the last time I was in an actual store. Asgardian bartering posts don't count. ❰ the thought is actually somewhat exciting; emil isn't happy about the new arrangements by a long shot, but this is certainly a perk. and, depending on where their new house will be, maybe it'll be within a reasonable walking distance. for him, anyway. ❱ But if they have a lot of perishables, I'm not going to say no.
Not that I know what to expect from a "gas station." ❰ he includes the air quotes purposefully. tanks generally need gas to run, but you keep cans of it around for that reason. some store attached to petrol pumps is something they only rode past in the silent world. ❱ I just hope they have some kind of meat.
no subject
as for the rest, ) Should have meat. The houses did. ( he can't see why they'd supply the houses with one thing but the supposed supply depot with another thing entirely. )
no subject
well -- does it count as shopping? mostly just raiding. ❱
Yeah, but it's...strange meat. ❰ look, emil isn't into animal processing, but he'd rather have a normal kind of butcher than weird meat in a can. ❱ And we just got that nice collection of farm animals. I'm sure there's a deer or two running around here, but the beef will be missed.
❰ no chickens or pigs, either. just a lake, so there will be fish...wish isn't so bad. other protein would be nice, but he's not holding out much hope. hmm. ❱
We could see what duck tastes like, I suppose.
no subject
( but that's when he catches sight of something through the trees in the general direction they're heading. his eyes narrow in scrutiny. it's some sort of overgrown building, and are those pumps beside it? seems like it. )
Up there. ( a lift of his chin like a forward nod. )
