Might as well duplicate our house as much as we can. ❰ which is to say, reynir has a place there if he does indeed show up. ❱ Even though not having Gods here is a pain. At least if we get a house next to this lake, I won't have to ask Honir for a water feature again.

❰ it honestly had occurred to him to wonder about tuuri, but asgard had similar traits when it came to people floating in and out. she wasn't there in the beginning, then she showed up, then she left again. it wasn't as immediately concerning to him, but emil does realize lalli would of course feel more strongly about it. ❱

I think so. ❰ it's softer and reassuring, but said firmly enough to indicate it's a fact he's sure of. ❱ If Reynir can bumble his way here at least once, I'm sure Tuuri can figure it out.

❰ tuuri coming back to life in asgard was so impossible and yet...emil certainly doesn't like to think about it, but in situations like this it feels like death really doesn't have many rules. ❱

( a thoughtful hum, noncommittal. he believes emil, the details of all of this are just so arbitrary - he doesn't know what these 'technicians' can or can't do, he doesn't know where this stands in the layers of life or death or reality or the tree with all the worlds or any of it, and if he can't wrap his head around it then how will tuuri ever manage to navigate it?

then again, navigation was always her specialty.

he considers asking now about onni, but emil never really got to know him - and also, last lalli heard, he was trying to sacrifice his own life for tuuri's and then he was gone, and he's not positive how he feels about any of that or where it would leave onni's body or soul in the grand scheme of things. and so he doesn't. )

Should get food in cans, or dried. Doesn't expire as fast. ( he's talking about the gas station now, since that's where they're headed, though he doesn't explain as much. )

❰ emil is ignorant to lalli's musing, and would likely just parrot the same sentiment where onni is concerned. they only spoke two or three times, but emil is somewhat aware that the hotakainens are a knowledged and resourceful bunch. he recalls onni being some sort of senior mage, so he'd likely be the expert at navigating spiritually. at least, that makes sense in emil's brain.

or, it would if he was consulted.

the new topic of conversation, though, he does have thoughts about. ❱

Makes sense. I can't remember the last time I was in an actual store. Asgardian bartering posts don't count. ❰ the thought is actually somewhat exciting; emil isn't happy about the new arrangements by a long shot, but this is certainly a perk. and, depending on where their new house will be, maybe it'll be within a reasonable walking distance. for him, anyway. ❱ But if they have a lot of perishables, I'm not going to say no.

Not that I know what to expect from a "gas station." ❰ he includes the air quotes purposefully. tanks generally need gas to run, but you keep cans of it around for that reason. some store attached to petrol pumps is something they only rode past in the silent world. ❱ I just hope they have some kind of meat.

( it has been nearly as long for lalli, come to think of it. ) Mora, ( he supplies a bit belatedly, because he does remember the last time either of them were in an actual store. it was before they really knew one another. tuuri dragged him from shop to shop, and emil (he can only assume) was off shopping, too. after that, there was only transit and then the silent world.

as for the rest, ) Should have meat. The houses did. ( he can't see why they'd supply the houses with one thing but the supposed supply depot with another thing entirely. )

❰ oh yeah, that sounds about right; he offers a nod. he's surprised he has to go so far back in his memory, and it makes emil realize just how much time has passed since then. more than a year, and so much has happened in that small amount of time. and similarly, he's missed so many things for so long. regular shopping being one of them.

well -- does it count as shopping? mostly just raiding. ❱

Yeah, but it's...strange meat. ❰ look, emil isn't into animal processing, but he'd rather have a normal kind of butcher than weird meat in a can. ❱ And we just got that nice collection of farm animals. I'm sure there's a deer or two running around here, but the beef will be missed.

❰ no chickens or pigs, either. just a lake, so there will be fish...wish isn't so bad. other protein would be nice, but he's not holding out much hope. hmm. ❱

We could see what duck tastes like, I suppose.

Duck's not bad. ( he comes from a village, remember? woodland game was at least as prevalent as meat raised by man. ) Pheasant's better. Wonder if they exist, here.

( but that's when he catches sight of something through the trees in the general direction they're heading. his eyes narrow in scrutiny. it's some sort of overgrown building, and are those pumps beside it? seems like it. )

Up there. ( a lift of his chin like a forward nod. )
