Good evening to all residents of this... admittedly very beautiful place. If slightly odd, seeing as I merely woke up here with no recollection of my journey.

That being said, since I am here, and will be for the foreseeable future, I would like to offer my services. My name is Doctor Hannibal Lecter, and I have been both a doctor of the mind and body for many years now. My primary interest would be in continuing my psychiatric practice here, if anyone would like to continue or even consider beginning talk therapy.

I was also a surgeon, before I was a psychiatrist, so if you have any physical wounds, I would be able to take care of those, as well.

So um, what's a surgeon or a psychiatrist?

A surgeon deals with the inner workings of the body, while a psychiatrist deals with the inner workings of the mind. A surgeon might, for instance, be able to repair a heart or a lung. A psychiatrist might be able to help you discover why you act the way you do by looking at different parts of your life leading up to that moment.

It is a very long process, and it requires the full cooperation of the other person. Sometimes medication is in order, if talking alone doesn't help.

But it is possible that through talking about your life, I could be able to unravel whatever problems you may be having. I dislike the word "fix"; most people do not need to be fixed. They just need to know how to handle the things going on in their brain.

I've study quite a lot of things, psychology among them. So to answer your question: yes, an actual, studied psychology psychiatrist.

I don't think so, and the poor psychiatrist would probably cry themself to sleep every night and then quit for the sake of their own sanity.
