Was the harsh winter here unexpected?

[ He's from Faerghus, which is not the most hospitable of environments. The cold doesn't bother him much, as a result, and he knows how to prepare for it but if others aren't as experienced... Well, he's just glad that some of the community have taken it upon themselves to assist. ]

For some, it was. Or so much - they were not used to not living at such restriction as winter often causes. But I was quite used to it, and it was my predilection to ensure that we all had appropriate stores for the winter.

I appreciate the supplies you gave me last October. They've been very beneficial, especially lately. [ For... obvious reasons. Though being both a biorobotic android and accustomed to the nuclear winter of his homeworld, he's likely faring rather better than most. This is familiar weather. ]

Not as yet, but you are so kind as to offer it, sir! I could only wish for your company, and perhaps, a hand or two, while you are here. There is a plank of wood that I need nailed in but I do not have enough strength to do it myself.

That isn't asking much. [ Particularly on the socialisation front. That anyone could want his company clearly comes as a surprise to him, but assisting with tasks of manual labour is more in his wheelhouse, even if he thinks this is an uneven trade. ]

Yes, I am afraid. The farmhouse where Master Geralt and myself reside is not in the best of states, nor is the barn where we keep the animals, and we do our best. But it is quite difficult at the best of times. He already does much, so I feel remiss in asking more from him.

No, not at all. It is cold in such an old house, but we keep the fire banked, and the house warm with it. Our repairs are slow with the cold but it goes well.

And you, my lord? Do you fair well in the season so far?

You don't need to worry for me, Maiden St Loe. I'm a man and a cultivator, the discomfort of bad weather can't hurt me.
