Uh, hello there. To hopefully get a few things out of the way, yes I can talk, no you're not imagining it. How can I talk? It's complicated.

My name is Winston, nice to um, meet you all?

[He winces with an awkward smile.]

So I've been having a look at the network set up here through the device provided and it's interesting to say the least. A few of my major questions have been answered looking back at things, but gotta ask just in case. Are these Technicians available for a chat or is this on a "them" basis?

Of course I'm not an ant, don't be ridiculous. But I'm not used to talking apes either!

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think most people are.

[ He hesitates for a moment, since he is still struggling with the whole concept of talking ape, then forcefully shoves that aside. ]

I suppose it doesn't matter what you are, as long as you aren't an enemy. What can you contribute to our survival here?

[That isn't exactly what he thought the man would ask, but he guesses that's fair.]

Once I've been here for more than a handful of hours I can give you a better answer, but if things get dicey, I'm not terrible in a fight.

I'd like to have a look around and see what I'm working with. So far things seem uh, pretty modern, maybe a little behind from where I'm at, but not by much. Though I'm guessing that's just in this place we're in. The Technicians themselves must be working with some impressive technology to do what they've done.

[ Honestly, Jiang Cheng is a little bit surprised as well at having actually managed to focus on the task at hand considering the whole monkeying around here. ]

Not terrible in a fight, you say. Do you mean brute strength or do you know how to use weapons, too? I won't be able to tell you anything about the technology here, it is futuristic well beyond anything I know. Others know more about that.

A little bit of A, a little bit of B. I can pack quite a punch on my own, but I've also got my Tesla Cannon with me.

Good for area control in a crowded fight.

Ah, so electronic devices of any sort don't exist in your time or world?

No, nothing of the sort. I didn't even know what an electronic device is until I arrived here.

[ He still doesn't understand them but he can at least reasonably certainly pick one out of an assortment of objects. ]

I don't know what a Tesla Cannon is, either. Is it a kind of shotgun?

[Hmm, interesting. Not his place to judge either, the world still turned and got on without electricity before it's invention after all.]

Oh! Haha, sorry about that I should have explained- or here, let me show you.

[Winston is already outside which helps and he'll just prop his gorilla sized phone up before backing a decent amount away. He's got something with him, it's a big strange looking gun? Thing?]

Hopefully you can see alright.

[Pushing his glasses up he'll hold his weapon to the side so it's aimed away from the phone.]

I built it myself actually. It generates electricity that will attack multiple targets primarily in front of it at a relatively short distance. Observe-

[And with him holding the trigger down to his weapon it seems to come to life! Taking a moment to jump start, but soon lightning seems to spark and dance from the end of it. Arcing out and crackling until Winston let's the trigger go.]

Let's just say it doesn't feel good getting shocked by this. I'm sure you've seen lighting before, it's like being hit by lightning in a sense.

[Sure. We'll go with that.]

[ Jiang Cheng does indeed get a good look on the canon, and he is absolutely delighted by the purple lightning it is spitting out. ]

It's like my Zidian! A weapon spitting lightning, just that yours doesn't come shaped into a whip, it's more unrestrained!

[ But it's beautiful, as the obvious joy on his face clearly shows, even his whole monkey issues are forgotten in the wake of this discovery. ]

I would love to see it up close sometime.

[What a pleasant change. It seems he's proved himself or won this man over for the time being.]

You have an electric whip?

[See that sounds like some sort of tech, but hadn't ge said they didn't have that?]

I think I'd like to have a look at this Zidian of yours too. Once I'm a little more settled I think we could work out something.

That is acceptable. I can wait. Getting to see another lightning weapon in use will be worth the wait.

[ Brightening, he holds up his right hand into the camera, showing the ring and snake bracelet, and channels a little bit of spiritual energy into it to make it spark with lightning. ]

This is Zidian. I'll show you what it looks like when extended to a whip when we meet for the demonstration.

[Winston peers in closer at the screen when Jiang Cheng gives him a tiny display of Zidian. Hm. Very interesting.]

Would contacting you through the network to set up a time later be best?

Yes, that is fine. I have figured out how to receive messages on this object.

[ Look at him. Be proud of him. He's a smart cookie. ]

[With how much he uses the phones and the network as his personal diary it's only right he knows how to use it. A+ and a gold star for Jiang Cheng!]

[ He deserves all the gold stars for being a tech whiz. ]

[ Since the whole saluting is kind of difficult with one hand holding the phone, he only gives a shallow bow. ]

That's all of it, yup. Can't say it's very fancy, but picked it all on my own.

[The name means quite a lot to him, but he probably won't get into that here and now.]
