Uh, hello there. To hopefully get a few things out of the way, yes I can talk, no you're not imagining it. How can I talk? It's complicated.

My name is Winston, nice to um, meet you all?

[He winces with an awkward smile.]

So I've been having a look at the network set up here through the device provided and it's interesting to say the least. A few of my major questions have been answered looking back at things, but gotta ask just in case. Are these Technicians available for a chat or is this on a "them" basis?

... I'm uh... can't say I've ever heard of that, sorry. I may be a scientist, but we still haven't figured out telepathy, haha.

At least we're consistent. [It's a small, flippant comment that badly hides the bitterness. He drops his chin to his fist as he observes Winston.] Daemon Sadi. Pleasure to meet you, Lord Winston.

[Lord...? Whoa whoa whoa, that sounds really fancy and important. He laughs awkwardly, rubbing the tuft of hair that sticks out the back of his headgear.]

It's a pleasure as well, but please, Winston is more than fine.

So, have you been here long? It does seem communications on this network span back about six months from what I could see.

[Daemon's eyebrows kick upward at the kindred's demurral. He dips his chin in acquiescence, though he's still bemused by the idea of non-Blood kindred.]

As you say then, Winston. You may call me either Daemon or Sadi. I answer to both. And no, not long. I would say roughly that amount of time. As far as I am aware, I was among some of the first to arrive, though not the very first. You are familiar with the technological aspects of this place, then?

[Sorry, Daemon, he's not what you think he is. Though he is still a talking ape. So. Sorta.]

Daemon it is then, pleasure to meet you! Or I guess as much a pleasure in this situation.

Thankfully I'm familiar with this kind of technology. If anything, this is a little out of date for me, but not enough that it's unusable.

When you say 'out of date,' you mean you have encountered more...complex technology? Inventions that do more? I admit I'm asking because our advances are predominantly based upon Craft, so I am unclear as to what would constitute comparative improvements.

You've got the right idea. Most of our technology now is holo based. Like touch screens, but it's not a physical thing you can touch. Er, well. It's complicated.

[You CAN touch the holograms, but it's not a physical construct and so much science mumbo jumbo.]

But mostly everything is more streamlined, faster, connected. Our world is constantly advancing in making our lives and technology one and the same. Which can be both bad and good I admit.

[But he hasn't missed what Daemon said either.]

Mind if I inquire what Craft is?

[Daemon's expression grows a little tighter, an expression somewhere between amused and pained.]

I'm afraid I also do not know what holos or touch screens are in the practical sense, though I can gather from the term that they are screens that you can touch. [There's a small curl of a smile on his lips.] Which sounds intriguing, though I'm not clear upon what occasions such things would be used?

It's curious, to me, however, that the way you describe technology is how I would describe inventing with Craft. Craft being the manipulation of our surroundings using our Jewels and the power we have been gifted by the Darkness—which I'm sure is as opaque to you as holos are to me. Ah. Psychic ability. My kind have a reservoir of psychic ability which we use for a myriad of different purposes, some of which I've found redundant upon encountering the technology here.

But all of that makes me curious. Do you simply inhabit a world of inventors?
