lan sizhui appears on the network, outright beaming while he's fumbling with something off-camera. a few minutes later, he holds up some cupcakes, doing everything he can to stay as steady as possible.] I'm a day late with this, but considering all the [pause] fun that was had at the party, I think it will be okay.
Yesterday – Halloween, I believe it's called? – was one of my fathers' birthdays. I know these aren't much, though I do hope he enjoys them and for all of those that might be watching, please, wish Wei Wuxian a happy birthday!
[with the utmost care, he sets the plate aside, carefully picks up the device he's videoing on in one hand then cups the other around his face to muffle a soft snicker before adding,] Oh, and if anyone else wants some of these, you're more than welcome to come get them! I made... far too many and although I know he will want to have all he can eat, there is surely no way he could finish the whole bunch.
[and yes, he knows wei wuxian can see this. it's totally fine, just some gentle teasing, that's all!] However, if you find yourself unable to collect the small cakes, I could also bring them to you. Though it would make sense to assume it was me, seeing as we have met and all.
[sizhui won't pry, obviously, especially when it isn't his place to do so, whether to find out more information himself or for xingchen. they're the daozhangs! if anyone can discuss their problems, he'd imagine it's them.]
