[Video, @witcher] Way backdated to idk Oct 6 I do what I want
[ Over time, Geralt picked up a few things about the network from watching Jaskier use it. That doesn't mean getting this to work is easy. But now that there haven't been any spirits or creatures distracting him for a week or so, he's starting to get the hang of it. A part of him is rather annoyed and bitter at feeling like he has to, but he has to admit that the idea of instantly contacting all of his fellow prisoners and hopefully finding answers without needing to hunt people down is very attractive.
So here he is, in his room in his cabin, staring down at the phone like it might tell him whether this is recording more clearly if he just looks scary enough. It doesn't.
He clears his throat. ]
Found something in the swamp that I don't recognise.
[ Hopefully it's working and he's not just talking to himself.Like it's not what he does most of the time. He talks to his horse, ok.
It takes a little bit of fumbling, but he manages to turn the video towards the shotgun leaning against the foot of the bed. ]
Anyone who can tell me what it is?
[ That's it. That's all he's going to say. Introduction? Nah. ]

Looks like a shotgun.
[ By now she's well used to all the old timey people here so she'll just assume he has never seen a gun before. ]
You point the hollow end at something and pull the trigger and it fires a bullet. Wait, no... Shotguns fire buckshot, not bullets.

So it's a weapon.
[ Makes sense. ]

Could show you how to shoot it?

Sure. Know where my cabin is?
[ He's pretty sure Lalli's been here, but it wasn't much of a chat, so. ]

When?

And dangerous. Don't touch it or you're likely to blow someone's head off.

[ And, sure, Joel has no idea who he is or anything, but he's pretty sure that he can avoid that. ]
Re: video;
[ You'd think so, but you'd be surprised. Better to be sure, especially if this guy has no idea what he's looking at. ]
You plannin' on learning to use that thing, or looking for someone to take it off your hands?
no subject
[ It's obviously dangerous, like he'd thought, so he has no intention of letting anyone else have it. He'll have to figure out somewhere safe to hide it away. ]

[ Pay attention, Jiang Cheng.
He's so tempted to not say what it is out of spite, but he's also not here to get into stupid arguments over pointless horseshit, so. ]
It's a shotgun.
[ Apparently. ]

[ He squints at the shotgun.
If it's a weapon, and it's a powder, then ... ]
How exactly does it fire the projectiles?
[ Is it a bit like a grapeshot bomb, but using a barrel to direct the projectiles? ]
no subject
Shotguns are unique in that instead of a singular bullet, it's a 'spread' of tiny metal bullets that only fall apart after being fired from the barrel.
