Oh Fran, Fran, are you sure that you want our favorite color or book? Does such a thing really help you feel like you know a person? ( he's not making fun, at least not on purpose. if anything he'd call it benign teasing.

I think it's wonderful you play the flute. I've always wanted to learn the piano, myself.

What a very sad thought. I don't think it's easy when anyone dies, personally. I think death is a hard thing to deal with, no matter what.

A string instrument, technically. But all the strings are on the inside, and you have to press on keys to make the strings work.

Why not just pluck the strings? That's what they're made for, no need to strike them with keys.

To make a different noise with the strings. A harp is lovely to hear, but hitting the strings sounds just as interesting!

And it's a little easier on your fingers, since the strings are so rough and strong.
