Uh, hello there. To hopefully get a few things out of the way, yes I can talk, no you're not imagining it. How can I talk? It's complicated.

My name is Winston, nice to um, meet you all?

[He winces with an awkward smile.]

So I've been having a look at the network set up here through the device provided and it's interesting to say the least. A few of my major questions have been answered looking back at things, but gotta ask just in case. Are these Technicians available for a chat or is this on a "them" basis?

Oh most definitely! As a scientist myself it's always good to have checks and balances. Things can always go too far if we're not careful.

Rhys. Hm, so I'm starting to get the notion not everyone is from Earth here. Whether that means other planets or times... it's truly fascinating.

We still haven't conquered space travel in my time, though there is a hard push for it.

[His childhood and the whole reason he'd grown up on the moon had been part of that. As much of a disaster as it ended up becoming.]

In my time, we're way past conquering space travel. I'm not sure any humans even live on Earth anymore. Earth is more of a legend than anything.

[Is a monkey scientist really so weird where you're from, Rhys? Is it?]

That's fascinating. If you don't mind, what year are you from? It's currently 2077 for me.

[ Not weird so much as he's never seen it before? But, also, talking Saurians ...

The universe is weird. ]

It's 2876. So almost exactly 800 years into the future.

I'd say that's unbelievable, but it's just that kinda day today.

So Earth is mostly a legend now, hm? Did something happen?

[theprezident]

I have no idea, actually. I'm not a historian. Sorry.

I guess we just decided to ... spread out. Get bigger. We seem to always want to get bigger. You still have countries in 2077, right?

[moonape]

No worries. If people have been space bound that long I can't expect you to know everything.

Mhm, we do. It doesn't surprise me that once we had the means we spread out through the universe. Whether for wealth or the betterment of humanity, it's bound to happen.

[That much he's always been sure of. He can't say he'll still be around when it happens, but it would be nice to see the stars in space one more time.]

Yeah, guess it was inevitable. But sometimes I kind of feel like someone should have stopped us.

[ Were they really ever meant to be in space?

He stares off into nothing for a second or two, then shakes his head. ]

Anyway, uh, welcome, I guess. Did I say that already?

Hm, there's a certain level of modicum humanity tends to lack in it's eagerness to see and explore. I guess I understand from both sides.

Haha, I don't know if a welcome is needed, but I appreciate it all the same.

No problem. Any questions I could answer or anything? I've been here from the start.

So we're here to suffer and die. How have they been inacting that?

We must be ants under a microscope to them, but I can't imagine they're burning us to death with the sun under that microscope.

Don't give them ideas!

[ He shakes his head. ]

I'm not sure we're ants to them, but they've done all kinds of things. Messed with our senses, trapped us in the hospital, sent monsters after us ... To name a couple.

Oh, whoops-- they'd do that?

[Techs what the fuck.]

Never mind, guess they would if that's just a few things they've done. I suppose we can't put anything past them.

[theprezident]

Yeah, I'd be prepared for just about anything you can think of.

[ Unfortunately.

Considering where he's from, he has a pretty active imagination when it comes to horror and suffering. ]

[Winston sighs heavily.]

[Any frustration in his tone isn't aimed at Rhys, more everything else, but he can't let all of this keep him down. ]
